Finiteness Properties of Database Queries

چکیده
We investigate the problem of checking whether the number of derivation trees of a Datalog program with duplicate semantics is nite or not. We show that given a safe stratiied query and an edb, it is possible to check, in polynomial time, whether the query has a nite number of derivation trees. However, it is undecidable to check whether a safe stratiied query has a nite number of derivation trees for every possible edb. We identify two classes of queries for which checking niteness over all edbs is decidable. We also deene duplicate semantics for Datalog (and thereby for the newly proposed variants of recursive SQL) queries with stratiied negation. Since evaluation involving counting of duplicates may not terminate in recursive SQL, this problem is of signiicant practical importance.

Apply Uncertainty in Document-Oriented Database (MongoDB) Using F-XML
As moving to big data world where data is increasing in unstructured way with high velocity, there is a need of data-store to store this bundle amount of data. Traditionally, relational databases are used which are now not compatible to handle this large amount of data, so it is needed to move on to non-relational data-stores. In the current study, we have proposed an extension of the Mongo...

متن کاملSafe Database Queries with External Functions
We consider the theory of database queries with functions on the complex value data model. The notion of a syntactic criteria, called “embedded allowed”, for queries which guarantee embedded domain independence, is generalized for this model. We show that all embedded allowed calculus (or fix-point) queries are external function-domain independent and continuous. We also develop an algorithm fo...

ABSTRACT. Let R be a commutative noetherian ring, I and J are two ideals of R. Inthis paper we introduce the concept of (I;J)- minimax R- module, and it is shown thatif M is an (I;J)- minimax R- module and t a non-negative integer such that HiI;J(M) is(I;J)- minimax for all i
متن کاملExtending the Qualitative Trajectory Calculus Based on the Concept of Accessibility of Moving Objects in the Paths
Qualitative spatial representation and reasoning are among the important capabilities in intelligent geospatial information system development. Although a large contribution to the study of moving objects has been attributed to the quantitative use and analysis of data, such calculations are ineffective when there is little inaccurate data on position and geometry or when explicitly explaining ...
